Kladd
Norwegian for “a rough draft”
Diagrams that look like you drew them.
Kladd is a Mac app for boxes-and-arrows thinking. Sketch it yourself, or ask Claude Code or ChatGPT to draw with you. Your drawings are plain files on your Mac — no account, no server that can lose them.
Native Mac app · Swift + React · R5-2026-10-18 · macOS on Apple silicon · €79 once, yours for life
What it does
Hand-drawn canvas
Tabs for every drawing, a dashboard for all of them, folders, stars and search.
A real library
Notes, architecture, flowchart and wireframe shapes, plus a full set of doodle icons.
Bring your boards
Imports FigJam .jam boards and Balsamiq .bmpr projects — useful now Balsamiq Desktop is going away.
Present it
Pages, an animate tool and a full-screen presentation mode. Export to PDF, PNG or SVG.
AI that draws with you
⌘J opens a sidebar that runs Claude Code or ChatGPT on your own subscription. Everything it does can be undone.
Built for agents
A local MCP server with about 25 tools. Agents edit in a background tab and never take over your view.
Local-first
Plain .excalidraw files. Works offline. Built on the open-source Excalidraw editor (MIT).
Native and small
Signed and notarized, about 50 MB, Apple silicon, macOS 12 or later.
Instead of Excalidraw+, Balsamiq, FigJam — and the subscription that comes with them.
€79, once.
A Kladd licence for life, on all your Macs. 14-day money-back.
